Two-year-old Peter undergoes radiation treatment five days a week, every week, for six weeks.
St. Jude recently discovered a way to lessen the side effects of radiation treatment, making it more effective for virtually all cancers. The procedure is so precise, the technology so advanced, that with the slightest movement of Peter's head the radiation could miss the tumor and hit healthy tissue. So every weekday, Peter is put to sleep for the procedure.
"You wouldn't know what he goes through," says Peter's mom, Kellei. "He wakes up happy, a big grin on his face..."
The cutting-edge treatment at St. Jude will hopefully save this little boy's life.
