If there has been one bright spot throughout Peter's fight with cancer, it is the bond he and his father now share. After Peter was born, Jeff worked hard to build a better life for his family. As a result, he was not able to spend as much time with them as he may have wanted.
But when doctors found the tumor growing inside Peter's brain, all those priorities changed, and the job of building a better life transformed into caring for his young son. Now Peter and Jeff spend what they call "dude time" together. It's a special time that Peter brags about and Jeff cherishes, even if those moments are had by simply changing a dressing. "We're spending time together, talking," said Jeff. "It's important to me to be involved in that."
